Residents of Sandia Heights are informed about a cooperative study between the Albuquerque Environmental Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control Plague Lab to test new rodenticide and insecticide products on rock squirrels and their fleas. The study aims to reduce the risk of plague transmission, with residents' cooperation needed for testing these products in May. Additionally, concerns are raised about children cutting through properties, door-to-door solicitors, and the illegal use of fireworks causing a serious fire before the usual July 4th incidents, emphasizing the importance of following regulations to prevent such dangerous situations. Sandia Heights Opera Club recently gathered for a gourmet potluck before attending La Boheme, a long-standing tradition since the early seventies. The club chairperson, Susan Carlow, organizes dinner parties at neighbors' homes for different opera nights throughout the season, with the next event scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd featuring Anne Boleyn by Donizetti.
