The August 2010 newsletter covers the annual meeting, town hall meeting highlights, introduction of new officers and board members, along with a mention of a Sandia Heights resident honored at the Big Sky Hang Glider Park. There is a section on street right-of-way maintenance and the need for residents to maintain their part of the right-of-way. The newsletter also discusses the Sandia Heights Coffeehouse Concert Series, SHHA membership cards & Merchant Benefit Program, Tram passes, and a security reminder during vacation season. A detailed list of officers, board members, and office staff are provided, along with information on security calls, and a security alert.
The newsletter outlines the guidelines for filing complaints related to violations within the Sandia Heights community, specifying that complainants must be members of SHHA and either in the same unit as the violation, in direct line of sight, or in an adjacent unit if close to the violation. It also emphasizes the prohibition of RVs, camping trailers, and boats on properties, encouraging filing complaints if such violations exist. The document goes on to share the results of the SHHA Tree Lottery and discusses the high participation in the lottery along with interesting statistics on the types and numbers of trees entered.
Additionally, the newsletter invites community members to volunteer for various committees supporting SHHA, outlining the roles and meeting schedules for each committee, including the Architectural Control Committee, Communications and Publications Committee, Community Service and Membership Committee, to name a few. It also provides information on a Solar Seminar covering topics like tax incentives and installation, as well as details on the installation of PV systems for residential use, including considerations for energy consumption and guidelines for minimizing visual impacts on neighbors. Keywords: complaint guidelines, SHHA Tree Lottery, committee volunteer opportunities, Solar Seminar, PV system installation, ACC Activity Log.
