Residents of Sandia Heights met with Bernalillo County Sheriff Dunlap to discuss neighborhood safety, with a focus on using online platforms like Nextdoor for crime reporting and community engagement. Additionally, the County Commission approved industrial revenue bonds for a new dining establishment and a mountain coaster project, aiming to boost local tourism and create new job opportunities. The GRIT newsletter also highlighted the importance of safety on the Tramway bike path and shared tips for staying cool during the summer, including local recreational options and parks available in the area.

BernCO Road Maintenance Services provided a detailed list of services offered, ranging from road surface maintenance to storm drain upkeep along county easements. Residents were reminded of their responsibility to maintain certain areas on their properties, such as home frontages and driveways. Sandia Heights Services emphasized being mindful of wildlife, particularly bears, by avoiding leaving trash bins out the night before collection. In another section, an SHHA member, Odile de La Beaujardiere, advocated for the installation of solar panels, citing cost-saving benefits, increased property value, and the availability of tax credits. The member shared a website for more information on solar panels and encouraged prompt action to take advantage of the expiring tax credits. Classified ads included listings for an estate sale, a babysitter service, and assistance wanted for online selling, while community event announcements highlighted recurring activities like the Sandia Heights "Cork & Fork" dining group and the upcoming Sandia Heights Artists Studio Tour.
