Residents of Sandia Heights have the opportunity to enjoy skiing at the Sandia Heights backyard ski area, located on the east side of the Sandia Mountains. With an average of 120 inches of winter snowfall and over 30 major ski runs, this ski area offers skiing for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers. The area is currently operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a unique tramway providing convenient access for SHHA members at a reduced cost of $5.00. In addition to skiing, there are restaurants both at the top and base of the mountain offering spectacular views.
In addition to the skiing opportunities, the SHHA office provides various services such as free notary, copies, and faxes, as well as safety vests for sale to members at $2 each. Residents can also find committee meeting schedules and classified ads on the association's website. As a reminder, residents are encouraged to attend the upcoming Board Meeting on March 9 at 7pm in the SHHA office and to set their clocks forward on Sunday, March 13.
