The May 2008 newsletter is filled with important announcements for Sandia Heights homeowners. The SHHA Annual Meeting is set for June 7 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, where new officers will be introduced, presentations made by SHHA officers and committee chairs, and new board members will be elected. The President emphasizes the need for member support to meet the annual meeting quorum requirements and encourages volunteering opportunities, especially for the Architectural Control Committee. Updates on officer elections, board member nominations, and a farewell to a long-time staff member Lena Martinez moving to Colorado are also included.
The newsletter discusses the responsibilities and time commitment expected from board members of the Sandia Heights Homeowners Association, emphasizing the need for active participation and dedication to the assigned duties. Amendments to the officer terms and committee structure are proposed to ensure efficient functioning and utilization of resources. Changes include allowing additional terms for officers with board approval and removing restrictions on officers chairing committees to align with board member terms and increase effectiveness in conducting business. A new Bylaws Committee and Nominating Committee are established to manage the association's bylaws and ensure continuity in board membership.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Garden Walk on June 14, especially if they are not members of the garden club. The Sandia Heights Homeowners Association's annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Tennyson from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. For inquiries about the Garden Walk or the annual meeting, individuals can contact Sue Caudill or Dan Caudillo respectively.
