A presentation by Dr. Mark DiMenna, Environmental Health Manager Vector Biologist, educated Sandia Heights on diseases transmitted by insects and animals in the area, focusing on preventing plague exposure. Residents were advised to report dead animals for testing, stay vigilant, and contact the Environmental Health Department if they suspect animal-borne diseases. The newsletter also covered spring landscape maintenance tips, pedestrian safety reminders, and the SHHA Tree Removal Lottery rules for members to have their tree removal costs reimbursed.

A unique upcoming event not to be missed is a concert featuring two talented singer/songwriters, John Wort Hannam and Jon Vezner, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:45 for members and 7 for non-members. Admission is free for SHHA members and their guests, and $15 for adults, $10 for teens and seniors, $5 for ages 12 and under. In addition to this musical event, the Architectural Control Committee has approved various projects such as roofing, window replacements, and landscaping within the community.

Residents are invited to several community events, including services at the Church of the Good Shepherd during Holy Week and the 12th Annual MasterWorks of New Mexico Exhibit featuring artwork by Sandia Heights artists. Moreover, Sandia Heights Artists will showcase their work at the Sandia Heights Coffeehouse Concert on April 17, providing an opportunity to enjoy music and art in one place.
