A zone change request to R-2 for the Mhoon Property on Tramway Lane has been filed with Bernalillo County. The current R-2 zoning allows for the construction of 15 different structures without a site plan, such as apartments, townhomes, and cell towers. The SHHA is opposing this change and encourages residents to submit written comments to the County Planning Manager before the deadline on November 23, attend the Planning Commission hearing on December 2, and utilize resources available on the SHHA website.
Furthermore, the December newsletter announces a holiday hiatus for SHHA dues, with no collections for November and December following a surplus in revenues. The Parks & Safety Committee discusses free green waste pick-up services and the removal of dead trees in Sandia Heights, urging residents to participate in maintaining the neighborhood's appearance. Security reminders, holiday safety tips, and statistics from the Sandia Heights Security Patrol are also highlighted in the newsletter.
The Sandia Heights newsletter from December 2015 provides an overview of the real estate market activity in the area. It includes detailed statistics on attached townhomes and detached homes of varying lot sizes that were for sale, pending, or sold in 2014 and 2015. Additionally, the document features listings of specific properties for sale, showcasing their unique features and prices, emphasizing the value they bring to potential buyers. The newsletter also highlights the importance of obtaining approval from the Architectural Control Committee for any construction or renovation projects in Sandia Heights to ensure compliance with design guidelines and Unit covenants, minimizing issues during the construction process.
The newsletter features details about upcoming Christmas events including a variety of festive activities such as cookie decorating, crafts, and storytelling for children about St. Nicholas. It also outlines the schedule for Christmas Eve services which include a pageant at 5pm, a choral concert and hymns at 10pm followed by a service, with both services including Holy Communion. Additionally, there is a mention of child care being provided during the 5pm service and a Christmas morning service scheduled for 10am on December 25th. The newsletter also highlights the successful placement of a memorial bench for Robert "Bob" Christman at Jackson Park after extensive collaboration with Bernalillo County, Melanie Christman, Jerry Carlisle, and others involved.
