In the November 2008 newsletter, the President discusses the beauty of the fall season in Sandia Heights but also addresses the issue of blocked views due to mature trees not native to the area. He encourages residents to consider trimming or removing tall trees that obstruct neighbors' views to enhance the community's natural beauty. Additionally, a Fire Marshal from the Bernalillo County Fire Department shares tips on emergency preparedness, including having reflective address numbers, maintaining wide driveways for emergency vehicles, and keeping safety equipment like fire extinguishers and CO detectors readily available in homes.

Residents enjoyed the September concert featuring artwork by Sandia Heights artists, along with refreshments and conversations at Coffeehouse events. The upcoming Coffeehouse Concert on January 17th will showcase Acoustic Eidolon. The Church of the Good Shepherd is hosting a New Orleans Jambalaya and Jazz Fund-Raising Dinner on November 8th to support Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts. The Sandia Heights Wildflower Club is holding a meeting on November 19th with Tish Resnik as the guest speaker, discussing features of the Great Outdoors Nursery. A variety of future events are scheduled by the Wildflower Club, including a Progressive Dinner in May 2009. The SHHA Office Meet n Greet on November 8th will feature local expert Ken Jerkatis explaining solar photo-voltaic electric power systems, and a photo contest for the 2009 Sandia Heights Resident Directory is ongoing with submissions due by November 15.
