Residents of Sandia Heights are reminded to be cautious of children returning to school, with yellow buses soon to be back on the roads. Bear sightings have been reported, with instructions given on what to do in case of sightings and how to prevent attracting bears. There is a call for vigilance in removing roadside elm trees to maintain the natural look of the area, following the Bernalillo County Code requirements. SHHA is offering tram passes and membership benefits with local merchants, including services like notary assistance and discounted safety vests.

Residents are reminded to submit applications to the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) for any projects altering the external appearance of their homes, such as roof repairs or new installations. In emergency situations requiring urgent action to prevent property damage, residents should inform the SHHA office beforehand. The Covenant Support Committee (CSC) focuses on upholding the unique covenants of each Sandia Heights unit to preserve property values and neighborhood aesthetics, with resources available in the SHHA Directory and website for residents to familiarize themselves with their unit's covenants.

The ACC has approved various projects ranging from landscaping to roof replacements, as noted in the ACC Activity Log section. Community events include a fall festival and ministry fair at St. Chad’s Episcopal Church and the upcoming Sandia Heights Studio Tour featuring local artists. Additionally, a photography contest is ongoing for the 2011 Sandia Heights Resident Directory, with submissions due in November.
